First post!

Hey there! What's this? ANOTHER beauty blog? I know what you're thinking, "What's different about this one?". I'll tell you! First, the bad news: I'm not rich, I don't have a ton of expendable income. But I bet neither do a lot of you! So I won't always be focusing on the newest releases and hottest items. But what I WILL do is show you what you can do with the awesome stuff you already have!

My favorite things about beauty blogs have always been looks and swatches! (Hence the name, lol!) Looks are a great way to be inspired by others, and to try to recreate it yourself! Sometimes it's great to see what products they used, and see what dupes they suggest, but really, it's more about sharing ideas and enjoying eye candy!

And who can live without swatches! So many times blogs focus on the newest things being released, and only swatch those. That's great! I love that! But sometimes we need swatches of things that have already been out! And, personally, I think the more swatches of the same things is helpful, because everyone swatches under different lighting conditions, and with different cameras!

If you can't get down to Sephora, or want to buy from an online retailer, or even want to buy a cosmetic from a drugstore where they don't let you test the product, you need to have swatches before you buy it! And in this day and age who wouldn't check all the blogs they can to see if it's a good color/texture/etc before buying?

There's a LOT of awesome blogs out there! And I read them all. I won't be able to provide the comprehensive awesomeness that is something like Temptalia (my fav blog) or Makeup & Beauty Blog (my other fav!) but there's still certainly a place for smaller blogs that can offer you great looks and advice too!
